Learn more about Brooke...

Brooke is passionate about educating clients to understand their behavioral patterns better and learn healthy boundary setting with self and others to build resiliency.

Brooke graduated as a double major from the University of Texas in San Antonio with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice. She earned her Master’s of Arts degree in Professional Counseling from a CACREP accredited program at Texas State University. She is licensed and qualified to counsel in the state of Texas under the Supervision of Hannah Milford, LPC-S, through the Department of State Health Services.

Brooke began her counseling career in 2017 while interning at Northwest Counseling and Wellness Center. While there, she co-facilitated intensive outpatient groups of individuals who suffered from substance use disorder and other mental health disorders.

She continued her counseling career at Valley Healthcare Systems. This community health clinic focused on providing healthcare services to an economically disadvantaged population in Columbus, Georgia. While at Valley Healthcare, Brooke saw adults, couples, families, and teens with a spectrum of struggles, including depression, anxiety, trauma, and life transitions.

Brooke also encourages education and support for those supporting others. While at Valley Healthcare, Brooke provided behavioral health and psychoeducational services at a local elementary school for parents/caregivers, teachers, and staff. She focused on helping them strengthen their ability to be active members of their students’ support network. She believes that incorporating parental coaching and working collaboratively with a child or teen’s support system is crucial towards positive change.

As a person-centered therapist, Brooke believes that therapy is a collaborative journey with her clients. On that journey, she uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness as tools to support understanding, learning, and internal shifts that result in sustainable relational and behavioral changes. She offers an honest and authentic approach, and her goal is to provide a warm and inviting environment.

Currently, Brooke works under the supervision of Hannah Milford, LPC-S, owner and creator of Happy Camper Counseling. At Happy Camper Counseling, she provides mental health services to adolescents and adults. In her free time, Brooke enjoys stand up paddleboarding on Lady Bird Lake, traveling, and trying out new taco joints. Brooke recently moved back to Austin and is committed to improving access to, advocacy for, and mental health education in her community.
