How to Become a RPT™️

rPT Credentialing & Supervision

The RPT credential is earned by completing a three-phase approach that integrates play therapy instruction, supervised clinical experience, and supervision.

Each phase has specific hourly requirements that must be met before progressing to the next phase.

To earn the RPT credential through the Association for Play Therapy, you must complete the following within a 2-7-year timeframe:

  1. Play Therapy Supervision: Minimum of 35 hours and 5 session observations by an RPT-S supervisor
  2. Play Therapy Instruction: At least 150 hours from approved providers
  3. Supervised Play Therapy Experience: Minimum of 350 direct client contact hours under an RPT-S supervisor.

RPT Supervision Sessions:

Currently Hannah provides virtual therapy supervision through Google Meet. Appointments are available Monday through Wednesday Mornings.

RPT Supervision Fees:

There are two options for therapists seeking play therapy supervision.

  • $155 per 60-mins of play therapy supervision session with Hannah Milford, MA, LPC-S, RPT-S.
  • $450 per month for LPC-Associate supervision concurrent with RPT supervision. LPC-Associate must be located in Texas.
